Lithium Reserve Found In India : The Geological Survey of India, (GSI) has found 5.9 million tonnes of inferred resources (G3) in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. This was accompanied by 15 other resources bearing geological reports (G2 and G3) and 35 other memorandums, this report was handed over to the respective states during the 62nd Central Geological Programming Board (CGPB) meeting held on 09th February 2023.
During this meeting, Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Chairman CGPB congratulated GSI on realizing the commitment made by the Central Government for the auction of 500 blocks by submitting 287 geological memoranda and 195 G2&G3 reports to the state government since 2015. However, he asserted that GSI should carry forward this momentum and continue the field programs with the same vigor.
